Bunkerleute are not just parties and concerts, it’s the way we do things. In a world where ‘alternative’ is a product you can buy and ’underground’ is the tagline of a brand, we create not only an escape from everyday life but a temporary state where radical openness, tolerance and individuality are almost tangible.
We believe people should have fun but are able to choose to do so in their own way, looking the way they like it, without being pointed at, shouted at, or judged upon, where you can enjoy your personal space, even on the dancefloor.
We are a safe haven for the weird and unusual, the rebels, outcasts, the bullied and the rejected, the idealists and the melancholic, dreamers, geeks, queers, the unadapted, hopeless romantics and nihilists alike.
Bunkerleute organises several dark underground parties a year in Musicafé, located in the historical city centre of Leuven. We do not aim to make any profit. If there is a profit at the end of the party, we put it on our savings account to make up for those parties ending in a loss. And if our savings accounts allows for it, we spent the money on the organisation of a concert or we give away some free drinks (een gratis vat dus).
We mentioned our respect for individuality, so obviously our events have a NO DRESS CODE policy. Dress whatever way you like. Black will make you more unnoticed in our dark world, but we have quite a bit of party visitors that like to wear something else. Another typical Bunkerleute 'thing' is our dislike for barriers between subscenes. So you can expect our DJ's to play a *very* wide variety of musical genres such as electro, punk, gothic, EBM, industrial, wave, postpunk, batcave, deathrock, gothic rock, powernoise, neofolk, electroclash, minimal, 80's, futurepop, darkpsy... and much more!
